About this Event
This is a 2-day event.
- Session 1 - Saturday, June 1 from 9am-1pm
- Session 2 - Sunday, June 2 from 2pm-6pm
Prerequisites - To join this class, you will need to have taken the Woodshop 101 course at the Charlotte MakerSpace.
We will provide
- Hard Maple & Walnut wood for the material
- Consumables - Glue, sandpaper, etc.
What you will do - In the class, you will learn how to use the jointer, planer, and rip saw to cut wood to the appropriate dimensions to build an edge grain cutting board. You will use these tools to do final preparation on S4S wood before gluing up your board to set overnight. Coming back the next day after the glue has dried, you will plane the board to smooth, apply finishing details like chamfers or roundovers, and sand to a finish-ready state.
