Makaton Level 1 Training is the starting point for learning Makaton. You are introduced to the Makaton Language Programme and the key principles underpinning its use.You will also learn the signs and symbols from Stages 1 and 2, and some of the Additional stages, of the Core Vocabulary. You will receive a Participant’s Manual, which includes the Makaton symbols and signs that you learn in the workshop.
Course topics include:
* Learning the signs and symbols for stages 1 – 2 of the Core Vocabulary and some of the Additional Vocabulary
* Hints and tips for effective signing
* How to start using Makaton in everyday situations at home or work
* Finding out how Makaton fits in with other signed systems
These workshops are run with a small group. This means lots of individual support is available from your Makaton Tutor.
