Maine’s Wildlife - What to do when you find...?Presented by Lauren McPherson & Barbara Haney
Lauren McPherson, Wildlife Biologist for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, will discuss how MDIFW oversees wildlife rehabilitation which emphasizes the welfare of individual animals, but does so from the perspective of wildlife at a population level to ensure the protection of a species as a whole.
Barbara Haney, Executive Director of Avian Haven, will discuss the ethics of wildlife rehab, what are the “best practices” and will give some case studies. Come find out about the extensive network of wildlife rescue and rehab in our state.
