Main Street construction is complete, and it's time to party! Come out for the Main Street Block Party, a two-day community-wide celebration on Friday, July 17, from 1-7:30 pm and Saturday, July 18, from 11 am-9 pm. The beautiful new sidewalks will be filled with live music, family-friendly activities, local business pop-ups, public art tours, and opportunities to explore Burlington’s revitalized Main Street in a whole new way.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can discover four new public art installations – Lakebone by Nancy Winship Milliken, Anthology by Lydia Kern, Magnus by wowhaus, and Block by Block by Noah Younse of Pixel Patch Creative. Together, these sculptures transform downtown into an open-air gallery that brings the unique stories of our city to life for everyone to enjoy.
On Saturday from 12–5 PM, head to lower Church Street for a special steamroller printmaking event with S.D. Ireland, where BCA Studios teaching artists and community members will create large-scale prints using actual construction equipment.
The celebration concludes Saturday evening in City Hall Park with a free Twilight Series concert featuring High Summer at 6 PM and The Moondogs at 7:30 PM.
Join your neighbors, friends, and visitors in celebrating this exciting new chapter for downtown Burlington!
BCA’s Summer in the City is made possible in part thanks to Underwriters at the Pomerleau Family Foundation; Supporters, Burlington Telecom, Myti, Soundtoys, and Lake Champlain Chocolates; and Community Partner, American Flatbread Burlington Hearth. Steamroller printmaking at the Main Street Block Party presented by SD Ireland.
