West Springfield and Agawam are going head‑to‑head in a friendly food drive rivalry – and you get to help decide which town comes out on top. We love a good competition, but this one is all about filling local food pantries and supporting our neighbors in need.
On May 9th, simply place your non‑perishable food donations in a bag or box by your mailbox before your regular mail delivery time. Your letter carrier will pick up the items during their route, and at the end of the day the total donations from each community will be weighed to see which town collected the most. It’s that easy to make a difference.
The stakes? The winning town earns serious bragging rights – and their Mayor will personally hand‑deliver town swag to the losing Mayor. Even better, the losing Mayor has to wear the winning town’s outfit of choice for their entire work day at Town Hall.
All donations will support local charities serving West Springfield and Agawam, helping to keep shelves stocked for families who rely on these important community resources.
How to Participate
Save the date: May 9th
Purchase a few extra non‑perishable items when you shop
On May 9th, place your donations in a clearly marked bag or box next to your mailbox
Your mail carrier will collect the food during their regular route
