1st Maidstone Open - Perch and Pike Competition.
£3 entry per Angler. Paid on the day.
All funds go towards prize pot.

Perch and Pike
Fishing Area: Between the Archbishop’s Palace and the railway bridge.
Competition Times
9:00am – 4:00pm , Meet at Kentish Lady cafe at 8am.
Rules
Single rod only.
A suitable landing net and unhooking mat are required.
A valid rod licence is required.
Anglers must fish only within the designated competition boundaries.
Both sides of the bank available, where permitted
Anglers must be spaced 5m apart. Respect other anglers fishing area.
Competition categories will be:
Longest Perch
Longest Pike
Junior (under 16) longest Pike
Junior (under 16j longest Perch.
All forms of active rod fishing are permitted, with the exception of live baiting
Dead bait may be used but must be purchased from a recognised angling shop.
Only one rod per angler may be used at any time. A rod with a lure in the water is considered to be in use.
When lure fishing, only one lure with hooks attached may be used at any one time...
No pre-baiting or preparation of swims.
All fish must be measured on a suitable measuring mat or board. A clear photograph will be required to verify the catch.
Any claimed fish will required catch card within the photo.
Catch and release only. All fish must be returned alive and as quickly as possible.
Fish welfare is paramount. Keep fish wet, minimise handling and do not retain fish unnecessarily for photographs.
Respect other anglers, river users and members of the public at all times. Keep the towpath clear.
No littering. All tackle, line and rubbish must be taken away.
The organiser’s decision is final in the event of any dispute.
Any angler who breaks the rules or deliberately compromises fish welfare may be disqualified.
12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.
