Mahjong On Tap: Premiere Night at Aslin DC

Due to the temperature, the April 20th event is postponed for May 11th.

Mahjong on Tap: Premiere Night at Aslin DC is hosted by Mind Your Mahjong with Michelle Byron—a fun night of tiles, connection, and community with two options: Mahjong 101 for Beginners and Hosted Social Play for Experienced players.

Light snacks will be provided. Drinks are available for purchase from Aslin.

Perfect if you’re brand new or want a structured refresher. Includes guided instruction, practice hands, and supported play so you leave feeling confident.

• Beginner Ticket: $65
• Beginner Table for Four: $260 (4 beginner tickets, seated together)

For players who know the basics and want a fun night out with organized tables. I’ll be circulating throughout the evening to support table flow and answer quick questions.

• Experienced Ticket: $30
• Experienced Table for Four: $120 (4 experienced tickets, seated together)

There will be clearly marked Beginner and Experienced sections so everyone gets the right pace and level of support.

• Two options: Mahjong 101 (beginners) + hosted social play (experienced)
• Seating: A 4-player game setup using venue-provided tables, arranged to keep play comfortable and organized
• All equipment provided (tiles/sets, racks, mats, dice, etc.)
• Bonus: We’ll do a couple of raffle drawings during the night. All ticket holders are automatically entered.

Please bring your current NMJL card. If you have the 2026 card, bring it. If you don't have it yet, the 2025 card is fine.

A limited number of NMJL cards (2025 and a small quantity of 2026) will be available for purchase on site (first come, first served).

• Walk-ins may be considered only if space allows (not guaranteed)

I will issue a refund if the new date, May 11, does not work for you.

Refunds are available up to 7 days before the event start time. After that, tickets are nonrefundable, but you may transfer your ticket to a friend by updating the attendee name/email.

Hosted by Michelle Byron (Mind Your Mahjong) — Mahji Mentor. I’ll be floating throughout the evening to help with table flow, quick questions, and friendly refreshers.

A rotating mix of tile sets and accessories will be provided—often featuring favorites from Oh My Mahjong, My Fair Mahjong, Hip Hip Mahjong, Bird & Bamboo, Charleston Mahjong Club, and more (sets may vary by table).
