Mahjong - Beginners Lesson/Open Play

Interested in learning Mahjong or looking for others to play with regularly? Join us for a casual beginner night at Out of the Box in Zeeland! Whether you've never touched a tile or you're an experienced player willing to help newcomers, all are welcome.
We'll set up a few tables and pair beginners with experienced players so everyone gets to learn by playing. The goal is to build a fun, regular Mahjong community in West Michigan!
Please comment on the event if you are experienced and willing to help beginners learn, and/or if you have a tile set you are willing to bring along with you.
We'll be playing American-style Mahjong using the official National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) 2026 card. If you don't have one yet, you can order it at nationalmahjonggleague.org. They're inexpensive and a must-have for following the hands. Pick one up before the event if you can! (The NMJL is running behind on orders, if you are not able to get a card before this event, we will have a few on hand to share at a table.)
