About the event:

On Saturday, May 2nd, the town of Wellesley is celebrating spring with the 2nd annual event — a town-wide celebration of spring filled with floral fun, pop-up experiences, and creative collaborations. It’s the perfect day to explore over 30 stores popping up with events and special offers all over town.

As part of the celebration, Bev and Emily of will be hosting the 1st Wellesley Mahjong & Canasta Pop Up. Bev and Emily—a mother-daughter duo and mahjong and canasta instructors — will be available for Q&A during play. Come for the play and leave with a goody bag filled with lots of surprises from some of your favorite stores like Winstons, Isabel Harvey, Kenzie & Hope, and many more!

10:30am-12:30pm: Mahjong Social Play

1:30-3:30pm: Canasta Social Play

A portion of proceeds will be donated to Accelerated Cure Project, supporting efforts to accelerate research and find a cure for MS.

What's Included:

• Full mahjong and canasta game setup
• Emily and Bev will be available for guidance as needed during game play.
• All ticket holders will receive a goody bag with some fabulous surprises.
• One mahjong prize winner will receive an Amanda Toppe mahjong mat. One canasta prize winner will receive a $75 gift card courtesy of Canasta Sets. Each ticket includes one entry to win, with additional entries earned through mahjong and canasta wins.

What to Bring:

Mahjong players: please bring a 2026 Mahjong card. We will have a handful available to borrow.

Canasta players: please bring a card holder, if you would like to use one. We will have a handful available to borrow.

Please note:

• There will be no beginner lessons. All tables require knowledge of canasta or mahjong basics.
• Lunch is not included, and Black & Blue Steak & Crab will not be open for food service during the event. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
