Mahjong 101: Learn to Play

Never touched a mahjong tile? Learn the tiles, build the wall, try the Charleston, and play practice hands—no experience or supplies needed.
About this Event

Mahjong 101: Learn to Play is a casual, in-person introduction to American Mahjong for the general public.

Never touched a mahjong tile? Perfect—nobody starts knowing how. You’ll get to know the tiles, set up the table, build the wall, and learn the Charleston, the tile-passing round that opens every American Mahjong game. Then you’ll play practice hands with plenty of help. No experience needed; all supplies are provided. Just bring your curiosity.
