Maharashtra Moving Forward: Fifteen Legal Reforms for the State

The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy is delighted to invite you to the launch of the second Briefing Book for the State of Maharashtra: ‘Maharashtra Moving Forward: Fifteen Legal Reforms for the State’. This Briefing Book is a list of 15 legal reforms recommended for Maharashtra that will enable the sustainable and inclusive development of the State. Hon’ble Justice Sujata Manohar (Retd.), a former judge of the Supreme Court of India and former Chief Justice of the High Courts of Bombay and Kerala, will be the chief guest for the Briefing Book’s launch event.

The launch event will take place on June 9, 2023 (Friday) at the Rangswar Hall, Yashwantrao Chavan Center, Nariman Point. Join us for high-tea beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by a musical performance from lokshahir Sambhaji Bhagat and his group Vidrohi Ambedkari Shahiri Jalsa at 5:30 p.m.

The Briefing Book will be launched at 6:15 p.m., after which there will be a panel discussion on the topic “Maharashtra Moving Forward: Balancing Progress and Sustainability”. Hon’ble Mr. Justice G.S. Patel, Mr. Bittu Sahgal and Professor Amita Bhide will be in discussion with Jinaly Dani, Senior Resident Fellow and Lead, Vidhi Maharashtra. This discussion will be followed by a Q&A session.
