Echoes from the Holocaust presents a powerful afternoon of chamber music by Sergei Prokofiev, László Weiner, Robert Kahn, Alexander von Zemlinsky, and Reynaldo Hahn, bringing together works shaped by a period of profound upheaval and loss.

Featuring works written for piano, clarinet, and strings, this program explores the rich musical voices of composers whose lives and legacies intersected with the cultural and political turmoil of the early twentieth century. Through their music, Echoes from the Holocaust invites the audience to reflect on the power of artistic expression, memory, and remembrance.

About the Series

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Magisterra Soloists’ 2026–2027 season marks a decade of artistic excellence, ambitious programming, and cultural impact in London, Ontario. The anniversary season features the most ambitious slate of artistic initiatives in the ensemble’s history, including seven newly commissioned works by Canadian composers, with world premieres presented throughout the season. The year also celebrates the international release of Magisterra’s debut recording on Toccata Classics, featuring the world-premiere recordings of Ferdinand Thieriot’s two octets. Together, these initiatives mark a milestone season that reflects Magisterra’s continued commitment to artistic innovation, Canadian music, and bringing exceptional chamber music to audiences in London and beyond.
