This is a very special meetup! Before the pandemic, I had a calling to go around the world, in person, and talk to people about what I love, and have training and experience, to do:
- Remind mothers their greatness!
Becoming a mother is not an easy task but it can be wonderful one with the right guidance.
I felt that my first port of call would have to be Los Angeles California!
I remember few years ago i was invited to a 'Womens Networking Event' and we had to present ourselves and talk about our businesses. When my turn came I felt so shy, but I spoke candidly and honestly about my weaning program, how it came to life and what is it about.
When I finished my talk, I noticed that one of the amazing ladies in the room was crying. This wonderful woman reached out to me to say that she is so happy this program exists. Even 20 years after the fact, she still regrets the way she stopped breastfeeding and as a paediatric nurse she is still seeing so many mothers struggling with weaning and not knowing how to help them. The tears were of relief that there was finally some support for these struggling mothers... I was that struggling mother once. Even as an experienced lactation consultant, I was clueless about how to initiate a respectful and gentle weaning.
I have now been coaching mothers for six years and have helped over 2000 mothers. My job is my passion. I still LOVE to show up as a Magic Weaning Coach!
