Join our new ProjectSpace Residency artists Anna Teer and Baylee Bourque for their first community workshop in conjunction with their in-progress project Magic in the Mundane ✨🧚🏼♀️Flow through interpretive dance with Anna and Baylee in this movement focused workshop! Participants should expect workshop focused on dance and how it regulates emotions throughout the body. Participants should dress in clothing comfortable for movement.
Magic in the Mundane is a multidisciplinary art series and performance that reimagines our southern upbringing through wearable mask art and dance. Drawing directly from nature and our own childhood experiences, this project revolves around sculptural masks that embody the overlooked, forgotten, or misunderstood icons of our environment. Images that are often cast aside but can hold deep, personal meaning. This is a series of wearable art, but also these masks become vessels: memory containers that allow the body to perform and embody the spirit of place and experience.
