What is Magic Academy? Magic Academy is an exciting new learn-to-play experience hosted right here at your friendly local game store. These events are designed to give you all the tools you need to jump into the game, learn the basics, and start slinging spells with confidence. But it's more than just a learning session—it’s a gateway to an incredible gaming community that welcomes new players with open arms. We also encourage our next generation of players, Magic can be easily learned by kiddos 13+.

Your First Steps into Magic: The Gathering. The Learn to Play event is your introduction to the world of MTG. During this session, you’ll receive a Welcome Deck—two pre-built 30-card decks, each of a different color. Simply shuffle them together, and you’re ready to play!

Our knowledgeable and friendly staff will guide you through the fundamentals, including:

• Understanding the rules and mechanics
• Exploring the different colors of Magic and their unique playstyles
• Learning the flow of a game—from casting spells to attacking and defending
