For the 5th annual Clara Breed Civil Liberties Lecture, join author Maggie Tokuda-Hall in conversation with podcast host Mike Sakasegawa at San Diego Central Library!
An award-winning and notable author with multiple children's and YA published works such as Love in the Library, Maggie will discuss modern day censorship, history and more with Mike.
Maggie Tokuda-Hall reached national attention when she publicly refused to accept a licensing offer for Love in the Library, from Scholastic after they demanded a series of edits to her author’s note that whitewashed the history of Japanese American incarceration during WWII.
Mike Sakasegawa is a writer, photographer and host of Keep the Channel Open, a monthly podcast filled with interviews of artists and writers.
This event is open to the public. Registration is recommended!
