Poet, scholar, and nonfiction writer Maggie Nelson is known for her hybrid of genres. She has noted her interest in poet Eileen Myles’s idea of “vernacular scholarship,” adding, “I need to talk back, or talk with, theorists and philosophers in ordinary language, to dramatize how much their ideas matter to me in my everyday life.” Nelson’s books include Bluets; Something Bright, Then Holes; Jane: A Murder; The Red Parts: A Memoir; The Argonauts; and The Art of Cruelty: A Reckoning. Her newest, Like Love, collects profiles, reviews, remembrances, tributes, essays and conversations with friends to bring life to Nelson’s passion for dialogue and dissent.A limited number of tickets include a copy of Like Love.
