About this Event
The Magazines West professional conference (MagsWest) returns this year in person with:
- 10 professional development sessions, including workshops, presentations, keynotes and panels, one-on-one meetings, networking
- Free Q&A sessions with government funders
- Networking events and and breaks throughout the day, including a post-conference social
- One-on-one meetings with our Magazine Doctors -- experts who can help you fix what ails your publication
- A magazine display table where delegates can leave their publications for others to peruse and take away

To take advantage of the early bird rates, please pre-register by October 22 midnight.

A buffet lunch and after-conference networking social are included in the full conference pass. You may register to attend just the post-conference networking social for a fee of $30.
A breakfast networking event will be held at Uva Wine & Cocktail Bar, 900 Seymour Street, Vancouver, BC, about 1/2 a block away from the VSO. You must RSVP if you plan to attend, and attendees pay for their own breakfast. Breakfast attendees do not need to be registered for the conference, but must RSVP.
The morning keynotes will be livestreamed, and tickets may be purchased for the livestream.
Magazine Doctor one-on-one meetings are first come, first served and must be booked separately.
Member Discounts
Staff of, and regular contributors to, MagsBC member magazines* (and associate and affiliate members) may register for the conference at 50% off if they have not claimed three or more professional development sessions in 2024.
Students at accredited post-secondary institutions may claim a discount on registration. If you have not received the discount code, please contact Sylvia Skene [email protected] with your name, program and institution or affiliated organization.

MagsBC supports reducing barriers to the disadvantaged.
