• Autonomous vehicles arrive in Madrid — Uber will deploy Autonomous vehicles in Madrid before the end of 2026 — alongside London and Munich — using the Nuro Driver SAE Level 4 platform on the Lucid Gravity.
• Europe's largest regulatory sandbox — The Villaverde Mobility Sandbox offers 20 km² of real urban environment for testing autonomous and connected mobility.
• Spain's first Level 4 autonomous bus — EMT put Spain's first SAE Level 4 autonomous bus into service in September 2025, rated 8.4/10 by users.
• A decisive regulatory year — 2026 brings the UNECE global regulation on ADS, the EU Automotive Industrial Action Plan and the DGT's ES-AV framework programme.
