Madison Abigail "Abby" Jones is a singer-songwriter, musician, and composer from Ayden, North Carolina. She is currently a junior at Meredith College, pursuing a Bachelor of Vocal Performance degree with an Art Administration minor. Abby made her professional debut with the North Carolina Opera in their production of Puccini's La Bohème in 2022. She is now interning with the North Carolina Opera Education and Outreach program and performing in Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf, an adaptation of Mozart's Don Giovanni. Abby has been involved in multiple choirs and is now a first soprano in the Meredith College Chorale and Encore. Since her time at Meredith, she has had the opportunity to perform with the White Iris Light Opera for three years in a row. Abby released her self-written debut single, "autumn leaves" on November 23rd of last year. This song is featured on her self-titled, self-written debut EP, "Madison Abigail," which is now available on all streaming platforms. Abby aims to acquire a master's and doctorate in vocal performance while integrating her passion for songwriting and performing into every moment of her life. Her experience within the recording studio, undergraduate music education, professional performance experience, and personal vocal training have given her the confidence and knowledge to one day instruct at the collegiate level. In all she does, she wishes to encourage others to pursue their musical aspirations. This junior Recital is performed in partial completion of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Music in Performance, Concentration in Vocal Studies. Madison Abigail is a member of the Meredith College voice studio of Jean Wozencraft-Ornellas.
This performance is free, general admission. For Meredith students, this counts as an academic and cultural event.
