The City of Newport News is excited to host the 3rd annual Made in Newport News event, block party edition, on Saturday, August 16th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at City Center at Oyster Point. Please join us as we celebrate the people, products, services, businesses, organizations, and attractions that make our city unique! Here’s a summary of the fantastic activities we have planned:
Opening performance – Enjoy a dazzling parade of bands featuring Newport News high schools, cheerleaders, and the Warwick Little League.
DJs through the decades – Dance in the street to hits spun by DJ Mixology, DJ Wavy Dee, and DJ Eroc.
Custom Newport News Boots on the Ground line dance & lesson conducted by the dynamic HyDef Dance Group.
Grab your very own Made In Newport News clack fan - Giveaways at 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM (while supplies last).
Outdoor dance floor – Get ready to show off your moves.
Food truck rally (prices vary).
Explore the small business and community groups showcase and meet local entrepreneurs.
Discover local craft brews at the beer garden featuring 1700 Brewing, Tradition Brewing Company, and Coastal Fermentory.
Get involved with our youth leagues - Peninsula Panthers, East End Vikings, Tri-Citi, Warwick Little League, and more!
Meet & Greet with Professional Boxer, Jerry “Slugger” Forrest at 5:30 PM and former NFL quarterback and current NSU Head Football Coach, Michael Vick at 6:00 PM.
Enjoy Fun Amusement Rides.
Get creative with face painting and rock painting for the entire family.
