No, this is not an April Fools joke, the owners of Mad Violets will be here Monday, April 1st!It is our great pleasure and privilege to host this very special event. The owners of Mad Violet will be leading this tasting. The owners, Kelly Kidneigh and Stirling Fox not only craft the wines, but they also grow the grapes. Their small boutique winery is located in the northern Willamette Valley in Oregon. It is very much a small "hands-on" family business.
Mad Violets begin with a Leap of Faith when Stirling and Kelly decided to purchase a small vineyard named Buttonfield Estate Vineyards. The vineyard is located in Oregon on Chehalem Mountain. (By the way, Chehalem Mountain is one of the Hoosier Wine Guy's favorite AVA's in Oregon. They named their wine company for their two daughters: Madeline and Violet. They have kept the business very small. They are "hands-on" in every aspect of the business. The daughters even help out in the vineyards and winery.
You will not want to miss this one! Rarely do we have an opportunity to talk to owners, growers, and winemakers all rolled into one event. Our Hoosier Wine Guy will be all ears on this one.
