On Tuesday, April 1, Mad Swirl presents a special evening featuring Kasey “Danger” Jones as the Featured Poet & Performer.
Mad Swirl is one of Dallas’ longest-running independent creative communities -a monthly gathering of poets, writers, artists, musicians, and storytellers who come together to share work, ideas, and the beautifully unpredictable energy of live performance. For over two decades, Mad Swirl has provided a welcoming stage for voices that are bold, strange, honest, funny, fierce, and unafraid.
Each First Wednesday features a special Featured Reader/Performer, followed by the legendary Mad Swirl Open Mic, where anyone can sign up to share poetry, stories, spoken word, music, or creative experiments of all kinds.
Expect a performance that moves between poetry, storytelling, and sharp observations about culture, art, memory, and survival.
And since it’s April Fool’s Day, expect a few surprises.
After the featured set, the stage opens to the community for the Mad Swirl Open Mic, where writers and performers of every style are welcome to share their work.
