Mad Hearts: Antigone, International Domestic Workers - Panel + Performance
About this Event
About the Performance:Performed by Waling Waling Theatre Company, a migrant domestic workers’ drama group using participatory practices, this political reimagining of Antigone confronts how the modern state determines whose lives are valued - and whose are not. Drawing on both the ancient text and the lived experiences of migrant domestic workers in the UK, the performance honours International Domestic Workers Day 2026 with the provocation to restore the domestic workers' visa.
Post-Show Discussion:After the performance, we will hear from leading scholars and lived-experience experts on the precarious social and political climate for migrants currently in the UK, and on the role of participatory arts in intergenerational groups in building solidarity and advocacy.Stand with us. Listen to powerful stories. Celebrate resistance, community, and the ongoing fight for justice for migrant domestic workers.
