Long Island’s Macseal burst onto the scene in 2015 with their self-titled debut EP, quickly gaining a reputation for infectious melodies, hooky guitar parts, and captivating live shows. After years of relentless touring, the band took a step back to reflect on what first inspired them, ultimately channeling those feelings into their latest album, Permanent Repeat. Written during a rare period of stillness, the album captures their strongest connection yet, shaped by weekly writing sessions in drummer Frankie Impastato’s grandma’s basement. Influenced by late ‘90s and early 2000s pop-rock icons like Fountains of Wayne, Michelle Branch, and The Goo Goo Dolls, Macseal blends nostalgia with technical twists, weaving wistful stories of touring, love, and longing. The result is their catchiest and most heartfelt record yet—a coming-of-age soundtrack to their own lives.
