About this Event
For those new to macrame, this class is an opportunity to learn macrame basic knots and finish a gorgeous macrame market bag that is great for picnics, grocery shopping or trips to the library! All bags will be made with cotton cord, have a braided set of handles and boho feel. No need to have any past experience, but students are encouraged to take stretch breaks as this does tend to feel like an upper body workout! We will wrangle cord in a color of your choosing while sharing whether your uncle or mom made macrame belts or maybe you are like me and got into making hemp crystal jewelry in the 90’s! Macrame is a series of knots, and is a great repetitive skill that allows you to chat or zone out listening to your favorite book or podcast. All attendees will end up with an understanding of some basic formulas to create future designs & the skills to use the most common knots needed to make more macrame projects. A fun and functional skill that has a light impact on the planet.
