This is the story of intercontinental travel — of African ancestors landing on Caribbean shores, meeting indigenous peoples, blending languages and ceremonies, and building something the world had never heard before. Afrobeats kept the pulse alive in Lagos. Cumbia carried it through the mangroves of the Colombian coast. Mapalé set bodies on fire in Cartagena. Mambo crossed the sea again. Amapiano opened a new chapter in Johannesburg.
On July 17th, two DJs trace those threads back to their source — and weave them into something new.
