BIO

Maclayne is a singer-songwriter artist based out of Calgary, Alberta. With a style often compared to artists like Sara Bareilles and Regina Spektor, her melodic writing is authentically quirky and theatrical, featuring relatable and heartfelt storytelling, punctuated by honest and soulful lyrics. Her debut album, Off The Deep End (fall 2024) is a project born out of a profound and transformative six-month journey through Nicaragua and features recent single “wherever it goes”, in addition to “sing”, (feb 2024) “out of the city” and “if you let go” (summer 2023), which received radio airplay on CKUA, CBC, and regional campus radio. “The intensity of selling my belongings, losing relationships, and traveling with little plan led me to process the experience through writing songs. I learned a lot about surrender, trust, and letting go, which are all themes woven throughout the record” says Maclayne.

Maclayne is currently traveling through Western Canada busking and performing house and small venue concerts as she ramps up her team and tour for the October launch of her debut album. A young storyteller with a unique ability to truly engage an audience in any room she graces, Maclayne is well on her way towards a thriving career as a songwriter and performer.
