Vergaarbak B2B Garçon Taupe
Vergaarbak (de): Receptacle [noun]. Vergaarbak is the certified master of oddball electronics, as exhibited in his resident radio shows on Intergalactic FM, Operator and Echobox. Anything audio, mostly obscure. For the first hours of this night, he’ll share the decks with Machine Cult co-founder Garçon Taupe. Expect anything from acid, electro, Atari dub, to jungle and 90s house.
Acidic Male
Puck Schot is an interdisciplinary artist. In her work her personal, diary-like poetry often serves to be the core element to everything. Subjects are often self-image and transformation of it, sexuality, revenge, shame and abjection. As Acidic Male, she has released work of her own on labels like New York Haunted and Dead Channel. When DJ-ing she takes over with hypnotic drum patterns and harsh sounds. Having her performer name as a revenge title, she searches to Other herself into the position of a poetic perpetrator. Her sounds have been described as “elegant industrial”, yet in her selections she attempts to showcase her love for genre-wide experimentalism.
Loradeniz
Loradeniz represents a multidisciplinary music and art project conceived by Deniz Omeroglu, originally from Istanbul and residing in Amsterdam since 2017. The soundscapes of her productions exude a mystical, authentic quality, featuring processed vocal work, deep-layered melodies, and compelling percussions. In addition to her solo independent releases since 2015, she collaborated with Interstellar Funk on an LP in 2023, had a solo film scoring release on Nous’klaer in 2024, and contributed to numerous VA releases in recent years.
As a DJ she played at Dekmantel Festival, Sonar Festival, De School, :// about blank, Dekmantel Selectors, Garage Noord, Fiber Festival, Sameheads, arkaoda to new a few.
Son of Sesh
Son of Sesh is the moniker of Amsterdam via Aotearoa based Producer and DeeJay Sean Miers. He has been a force in Aotearoa club music for many years, from his early days in the booth at Radioactive.fm on his fathers weekly show ‘The Session’ in the 2010’s through to humming dance floors across New Zealand and later Japan, curating club nights and performing at a wide range of venues in the Kansai area between 2014 and 2016. Upon returning to Aotearoa, Sean founded the SURFACE club night which combined Graffiti street art and club culture, drawing on the similarities and juxtaposition between live audio and visual art. Since moving to Amsterdam in 2019 Sean has adapted SURFACE to a monthly radio show on Echobox radio which strives to present electronic music from Asia and the Pacific, while staying true to its origins in the underground through a string of intimate events at Bar Theo. Sean’s passion for combining rhythm and frequency is unmistakable in any of his sets, often traversing a wide range of bass and break-centric genres to create ongoing dialog throughout.
Déandrah
On visual duties is once again Déandrah – Label boss of Dee Dee's Picks, Echobox and Fade Radio resident and producer whose work has been released on Lustpoderosa, Intersub and Insult to Injury to name a few. For this evening, Déandrah will use live video feedback loops and analogue style video synthesis filtered on top of an eclectic selection of music videos to create a compelling “neo media” performance.
Machine Cult is hosted by Déandrah and Garçon Taupe.
