Machinal by Sophie Treadwell

April 9-11, 16-17, 2027
Director: Michael Beyer
Based on the true story of Ruth Snyder, the first woman to be executed by electric chair, in Sing Sing Prison in 1928. Machinal is a timeless and fearless examination of how societal constraints led to the desperate act resulting in Ruth’s execution. It remains a painfully evocative and astute study of womanhood in an age that values automation and submission over human uniqueness.
LCC is pleased to provide free admission to all of our performances, thanks to LCC's commitment to increasing accessibility to quality entertainment for the Lansing community. All evening performances will begin at 7 p.m. with Sunday matinees beginning at 2 p.m.
Attendees should visit the box office to pick up a seat voucher before entering the theatre.
Free parking is available on Capitol Ave. and in adjacent LCC parkding lots.
