The recent passing of the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne is a huge loss to the world of rock music, and his legacy will remain a monument of immense musical significance. Back in 1968, from humble, working class beginnings in Aston, Birmingham, his band Black Sabbath invented a genre of music entirely their own, which we now call ‘Heavy Metal’, and it’s impact on the world of rock music is simply incalculable.
The moment Ross (Bass) informed me (Joe, vocals) of this terrible loss, we knew we’d have to honour the band’s incredible body of work in some meaningful way, so enlisting the powerful drum skills of Ben Mayoh, and the undeniable mastery of guitar guru, Fill Hill — within hours Macc Sabbath was born.
Focusing on the Ozzy years, Macc Sabbath delivers a night of terrifying rock music, with a few surprises thrown in for the real thrill-seekers. And with local artists The Perps, fresh from two sets at the Glastonbury Festival (check them on Spotify), and cool, fresh-faced rockers Skiver, this promises to be one HELL of a night. And what, pray, is the most fitting night for such a grand celebration...? HALLOWE’EN, of course! So grab your tickets, and get ready to party — fancy dress optional, but very much encouraged!
