This Juneteenth Celebration and Tasting Diversity Event is organized by the Sonoma Library Foundation, Sonoma County Library, and Sonoma County Wine Library Association.
Experience the premiere of a Visual Oral History interview featuring Mac McDonald, owner and winemaker of Vision Cellars. Mac McDonald is a leader in the wine industry and has been a mentor to other black wineries. He also founded the Association of African American Vintners (AAAV). After the interview, you'll get to see Mac himself.
The event will also feature wines and appetizers from prominent African American winemakers in the county. Sample wines poured by Chris Christensen of Bodkin Wines, Dan Glover of L'Objet Wines, Justin Michelle of Ward Four Wines, and Dennis McCarter of McCarter Cellars. Chef Marc-Henri Jean-Baptiste of (black-owned) Maison Porcella will offer delicious appetizers. You can Also enjoy Paradise Ridge wines also
Event partners include Steve and Mary Graves, descendants of abolitionist John Brown, the Association of African American Vintners, and the NAACP Santa Rosa-Sonoma County Branch.
