History of Mabuhay Park:

Mabuhay Park, located in Edmonton, Alberta, is the first Filipino-themed park in the province. The park was officially named and opened in October 2023. The word “Mabuhay” is a Filipino greeting that means “welcome” and “long live,” reflecting the spirit of hospitality and inclusivity of the Filipino community.

The park was established to honor the contributions and cultural significance of Edmonton’s Filipino population, which is the fastest-growing demographic in the city. It serves as a gathering place for the community and a symbol of Filipino heritage, culture, traditions, and values.
