Afrikan Martial Arts Seminar Featuring Kupigana's Living Legends

Info: Kupigana Ngumi (Koo-pee-ga-nah N-goo-me) is known as the 'Essence of Afrikan Martial Arts'. It is a total body workout that strengthens muscles, improves balance and increases endurance. Join Moyo Arts for a special workshop with Living Legends: Oso Tayari Casel, Mfundishi (Grand Master) Bakari, and Mfundishi Mtakata visiting Denver. Embark upon a journey of self discovery, and learn history of African Martial Arts, effective defense techniques, build self-confidence, in a safe supportive and high-energy environment. (Workshops are appropriate for all ages and levels of experience) Â Funding for this program was provided by the Colorado Health Foundation.

Afro-Cuban Rumba Workshop w/ Yuni from Los Muñequitos de Matanzas

Info: Los Muñequitos de Matanzas is a Cuban rumba band dedicated to preserving Cuban folkloric traditions.Having continually recorded since 1956, Los Muñequitos is the most famous rumba group from Matanzas. Recognized as innovators within the genre they are described as “the essence of Cuba’s musical soul” (San Diego Union Tribune); “truly keepers of a sacred flame” (Latin Beat Magazine); and “living lessons in 500 years of Afro-Cuban history”. It is our privilege to bring them to the Denver for our pre-holiday class. Everyone is welcome to this no-cost workshop. Bring or borrow a drum.
