The Back Story ??
As you know, Maker to Main officially closed Jan 27th causing what was thought to be its final chapter in the mission to support local farms and the small maker community. A few days after closing Harry Kokkinis of Table Talk Pies and Kathy Tsandikos of Coney Island reached out to discuss an idea stating they saw that front page picture, were heartbroken and wanted to find a way to honor what Lynn did for the city and community.
While Lynn is incredibly humbled by their gesture to honor her + the work of Lettuce Be Local / Maker to Main, she in turn is using this opportunity to once again, support local farms; a mission that
is very close to her heart. As a result, she asked Kathy and Harry if this event, intended to honor her could instead raise funds for the MA Farm Resiliency Fund.
MA FARM RESILIENCY FUND
The United Way Central MA, with the Governor, Lt Governor and other community partners created the MA Farm Resiliency Fund last year to aid local farms
drastically impacted by the insane flooding. They raised and gifted $3.2 million for 228 local farms!!!
We know climate related disasters as well as other emergencies for local farms continue to be a huge concern so the MA Farm Resiliency Fund will continue to provide aid and we can help.
