The LYP Women's Leadership and Career Development Program is designed exclusively for ambitious, motivated women who are ready to be more and earn more. Become more focused and intentional about your career. Create strategies that allow you to fully leverage your strengths, skills and previous experiences. Confidently declare your value to the world.
* Please Note: LYP Women's Leadership and Career Development Program is a 2.5-day program. This includes 2 full days of training on November 9 & 16, 2024 9am-5pm PLUS a virtual Panel Discussion & Networking Event within 2 weeks of program completion (Date TBD). By registering for the program, you are automatically enrolled into the entire 2.5 days. If you are unable to attend the Panel Discussion & Networking Event, you have the option to join one later in 2025 at no additional cost (date TBD). However, you MUST be able to attend the full days of training on both November 9th and 16th, 2024.
Day 1- Saturday November 9, 2024 9am-5pm
Module 1: Reflection & Strategic Career Planning
Start the strategic process of goal-setting and action planning while reflecting on your interests, competencies and passion.
Module 2: Personal Branding
Identify your unique personal brand, and articulate your value to your target audience with clarity and confidence. Create strategies to communicate a consistent brand message across multiple channels in your professional life.
Module 3: Negotiation Skills
Advance your competencies and strategies to be more assertive and successful in the workplace. Effectively influence and negotiate upwards or sideways within your organisation, or with partners, external clients and suppliers. Build confidence in your influencing power and ability to reach a win-win agreement, whether it be your next salary, contract, or promotion.
Day 2 – Saturday November 16, 2024 9am-5pm
Module 4: Strategic & Meaningful Networking
Build hands-on strategies to create meaningful new connections while leveraging and strengthening your exisiting network. Learn how to voice your value and engage stakeholders through the power of storytelling.
Module 5: Personal Leadership: Emotional Intelligence, Diversity and Inclusion
Develop personal leadership skills by boosting your “people skills”. Learn how to build inclusive relationships in the workplace, effectively work in diverse teams, and increase your self-mastery and emotional intelligence.
Module 6: Action Planning
Build on learnings from Modules 1-5 and create a clear, strategic action plan & accountability structure to meet short term and long term professional goals.
Day 3- TBD
On-Line Private Panel Discussion and Networking Event with Established Female Mentors
This Panel Discussion & Networking Event is open to LYP Program participants and alumnae ONLY. Engage in honest conversation with inspiring female panelist/mentors who have overcome their hurdles to live their potential. Connect with members of the LYP alumnae community and expand your network.

Meet the Award-Winning Trainers
Dr. Jean Kim is a Global Communication Strategist, Coach, and award-winning Educator with over 24 years of experience empowering women from all over the world.
Dr. Kim obtained her Ph.D. in Language and Literacy Education from the University of British Columbia and was also trained in Image Consulting from the prestigious International Image Institute. She has taught professional communication skills, cross-cultural communication, and public speaking, among others, at universities in Canada, the U.S., and Korea, and was twice awarded the Teaching Excellence Award by the Catholic University of Korea.
Dr. Kim is especially passionate about women's empowerment and has facilitated multiple career development and leadership programs at organizations such as KPMG's Women in Leadership Network, Women in NAAAP (North American Association of Asian Professionals), The Korean Professional Women's Association, and Toronto Metropolitan University's Women in Engineering. She continues to work with young professionals across Canada through her DEI training with Mitacs, and has also worked with future global leaders through the World Bank's Teen Leadership Program. Dr. Kim has lived in Seoul, Hong Kong, London, New York, Honolulu, Tokyo, Paris, Vancouver, and Toronto.
Lilit Simonyan is dedicated to educating and connecting youth and women to bring positive change in their lives, organizations, and communities. As an award winning founder of a not-for-profit organization and a certified adult educator, Lilit focuses on women empowerment, negotiation and conflict resolution, intercultural awareness, diversity and inclusion, leadership development, strategic planning and team building. In 2008 Lilit started the renowned program "ArqaNe" aimed to empower and develop leadership among young women in Armenia. Since then the program has impacted the lives of thousands of young girls nationwide.
During the last 20 years, she has worked with professionals from over 40 countries, at organizations such as the European Commission, United Nations Development Program, Jeanne Sauvé Foundation, Ontario Public Service, Colleges and Institutes, Canada, American University of Armenia, British Council, European Youth Forum, as well as a number of youth and women’s organizations across North America and Europe. Her leadership and contributions for not-for-profit and public sectors have been recognized by the Prime Minister of Armenia, the International Youth Foundation through the YouthActionNet award, International Researches and Exchanges Board (IREX) through Careers for Alumni in Public Sector. She is an Alumna of the Draper Hills Fellows Program (Stanford University) and the Aspen Institute Romania Young Leaders program. Lilit holds two BAs in Foreign Languages and Economics and an MA in Public Administration from the University of Kansas. She is a Jeanne Sauvé Fellow.
How many participants will be in the program?
The program is intentially kept small to a maxium of 15 participants. We do this in order to maximize our participant's learning experience; provide 1:1 individual support and attention; and create a sense of community for everyone.
W ill both trainers be present at all times during the 2.5 days?
Absolutely! LYP Co-Founders & Lead Trainers, Jean and Lilit, will be leading 3 modules each based on their respecitive areas of expertise. But both will be present at all times during the 2.5 days of the program. This will allow for more individual support for each participant.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You do not have to bring a printed ticket. However, you will be asked to present your mobile confirmation or a picture ID.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Registered participants unable to attend the program may transfer their spot to another individual. Transfer requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected] by 12pm (noon) EST November 8th, 2024 and must include 1) original participant name and contact information and 2) replacement participant name and contact information. Transfers can only be made for the entire program and not for individual modules. Please note that there is a $50 administrative fee for ticket transfers.
What is the refund policy?
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. Requests received by 11:59pm EST Nov 4th, 2024 will receive an 80% refund. Requests received between 12:00am EST Nov. 5th to 11:59pm EST Nov 8, 2024 will receive a 50% refund. NO REFUNDS will be issued on or after the start date of the first module (12:00am EST November 9, 2024).
In the case one or more modules are canceled due to extreme weather conditions or other unforeseen emergencies, makeup modules will be rescheduled for a later date. No refunds will be granted for the canceled modules.
