Glenna S. Jackson is Professor Emerita in the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Otterbein University. She completed her B.A. at the University of Dubuque and Ph.D. at Marquette University. Glenna’s scholarly interests include the historical Jesus, the status and role of women in the world’s religions and in social justice. She is the author of the monograph ‘Have Mercy on Me’: The Story of the Canaanite Woman in Matthew 15:21-28, co-author of Remedial Christian: What Every Believer Should Know About the Faith but Probably Doesn’t, many book chapters and articles and serves on the editorial board of The Fourth R: An Advocate for Religious Literacy. She has been a visiting scholar-lecturer in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Lebanon, Cameroon and Finland. Glenna served as co-founder of the Poverty in the Biblical World unit in the Society of Biblical Literature. She is also a Fellow of the Jesus Seminar in the Westar Institute. Glenna took Otterbein students to various countries in Africa for twelve years and taught and conducted research there for more than twenty years.
SAM DZOBO is a native of Mutare, Zimbabwe. He is an ordained elder in the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church. Sam has served as pastor in Zimbabwe and in the USA for twenty-eight years. Sam attended Africa University in Mutare, Zimbabwe where he graduated with a Bachelor of Divinity and a Master of Theological Studies . From Duke University he graduated with a Master of Theology. He holds a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies with a concentration in Christian missions from Asbury Theological Seminary. Sam is serving as pastor at Lennon-Seney UMC, a historic black church in Knoxville, TN.
