He has left behind a suicide note, a mixtape, Christmas presents, money for a funeral, and an unpublished novel. Faced with this crisis, what can Morvern do? Put her name on the novel, submit it to a publisher, hack up her boyfriend’s body, and head to Spain with the cash, of course! What might sound lurid or deeply unpleasant plays, in Ramsay’s masterful hands, as an utterly entrancing study of the vagaries of the human heart and mind.
