Lynda and Rick have been playing guitar for much of their married life. But there was one problem. Lynda was a little bit country and Rick was a little bit Rock and Roll. Yeah, just like the song “I’m a little bit country and he’s a little bit rock and roll”, by Donnie and Marie Osmond. So they didn’t play together much. Later in life, Rick knew he wasn’t going to win that battle so he took up playing bass guitar so he could accompany Lynda playing her country songs. They played in a band (friends from Rick’s work) about 20 years ago, for about 3-4 yrs, mostly at house parties. (Birthday, Retirement, Anniversaries and such). At which point, they expanded their repertoire to include classic rock as well as country.
Since then, Lynda and Rick have been entertaining at a retirement home and a nursing home (both in the Valley) but mostly in their “Band Cave”. Lol…
One of the items on Lynda’s bucket list was to play in a bar. Chris, (Cousin Vinny’s) gave Lynda and Rick that opportunity in May. It was such a thrill to play for an audience of 100+ (Friends and family) that when Chris approached them, asking if they’d do it again, they jumped at the opportunity.
Playing for a live audience, in a bar, was so much fun … they hope to see you next time….
