LYDIA LUNCH has spent decades trolling through the sub/terranean sick-home black & blues creating a schizophrenic musical legacy which loops from No Wave to brutal Hard Rock, from smoky Jazz Noir and illustrated word to macabre Psychedelia. BIG SEXY NOISE is her most seductive outing, backed by three of New York’s most exciting musicians.
TiIM DAHL is a composer and professional electric and double bass player, vocalist, keyboardist and composer living in New York City. He is best known as the front man and bass player of the noise-rock band Child Abuse. He also writes and performs for the jazz ensemble Pulverize The Sound. Dahl has toured extensively throughout the world and performed with many notable musicians, composers and performers including Yusef Lateef, Archie Shepp, Eugene Chadbourne, John Zorn, Marc Ribot, Elliot Sharpe, Tatsuya Yoshida and Stanley Jordan and Lydia Lunch.
Drummer KEVIN SHEA The global community first took notice of Shea back in the mid ’90's with cult avant trio Storm & Stress on Touch and Go Records. Since then he has maintained a relentlessly prolific presence internationally with countless projects in the Rock, Avant-Garde and Jazz genres — including work with God Is My Co-Pilot, Mostly Other People Do The Killing, Rhys Chatham, David Taylor, etc. The Village Voice named him 2012’s Best Drummer in NYC. In 2021, Shea moved to Germany after receiving Moers Festival’s 14th annual Improvisor In Residence scholarship. He now resides in Brooklyn.
TIMO (TIH-mo) ELLIS (he/him) is a musician, composer, and producer. He lives and works in New York City, where he was born and raised. A vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Ellis has appeared on almost 100 albums over the past twenty years. He has recorded and toured with such artists as Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon, Cibo Matto, Joan As Police Woman, and Spacehog, and has variously performed and collaborated with Mark Ronson, John Zorn, The Melvins, Ween, The Lemonheads, Money Mark, Car Bomb, Gibby Haynes and Maya Azucena, among many others.
Ellis’ extreme versatility has placed him in the company of musical greats of several genres – Traversing the realms of rock, punk, metal, soul, r'n'b, lo-fi, folk/ country, electronics, and beyond, Ellis’ diverse musical sensibility is unified by a few constants: blazing technique, quirky experimentalism, and sheer intensity. His progressive sludge band Netherlands has been active since 2010, and whose songs have been described with phrases like “an absolute, burning blur” (CMJ), “overridden-in-the-red propulsion” (Noisey), and “gritty, high energy… rambunctious” (BrooklynVegan).
