That evening on the garden stage: Kim Churchill himself says: “I feel like I’m just getting started. It’s strange because for 15 years I’ve been living in a campervan, playing gigs, and chasing this crazy dream. I grew up in a small town called Merimbula on the east coast of Australia. We’re mainly known for surfing, oysters, and whale watching. At 15, I started playing music at local farmers’ markets and had a fake ID so I could play in some pubs in my area. Right after high school, I hit the road in a van to pursue my dreams and surf my way across the country. In that first year, I was lucky enough to win the Byron Bluesfest busking competition and was named Folk Artist of the Year, as well as receiving an award at the National Folk Festival. This led to some incredible adventures in Japan, North America, and Europe. I’ve busked all over the world and bought two more campervans on different continents.” Now I have three and fly back and forth between them every year to play at festivals and discover the most remote corners of the world, as well as all the beautiful places where I can make music. One of these beautiful places is our garden stage.
Where is it happening?
