LUST FOR LIFE returns this February in Dorothy as our monthly rock n' roll burlesque show! Hosted, Produced, & Curated by Kitty Tornado & Greta-X, you don't want to miss this showcase that's a celebration of bodies and rock n' roll!

Lust for Life was born from a lifelong love for rock n’ roll and badass self-expression. Named after the iconic 1977 punk album of the same title by Iggy Pop, Kitty and Greta aim to bring a variety of rock-based burlesque and boylesque acts to Dorothy each month with their co-curated line-ups against a soundtrack of timeless riffs! These badass babes hope to put on an evening that electrifies, delights, and celebrates TWO classically-rebellious forms of art TOGETHER AT ONCE: rock n’ roll music and burlesque striptease!

For February's “Let’s Wine About Valentine’s” showcase, Kitty & Greta welcome in performers: Juniper Faewild, Billie Batwing, Dotti Moscati, Shirley Blazen, MochaMocha2.0, Matt Adore, and Secret Mermaid!

Doors at 7:15pm / show starts at 8pm! Arrive early for best seating opportunities! All guests must provide physical ID (21+) for entry.

ABOUT THE CREATORS/HOSTS

Kitty Tornado (she/her) first dipped her toes into burlesque when she moved from Michigan to Chicago in 2014 and performed throughout the Midwest until 2019. With a degree in technical theater and production, she never expected she would love getting naked for the masses! She loves burlesque most for its creativity and liberation. Spending the last three years on a performance hiatus, Kitty traveled across Europe and lived overseas in España. When not storming the stage, she ‘grams about travel and food, and she collaborates with Greta-X in both burlesque and in visual art. @katinamarguerite

Greta-X (she/her) sank her crooked teeth into local burlesque in 2017 and performed weekly until 2020. For the past three years, she has been working toward two Master’s degrees – one in Arts Management (completed in 2021), and an MFA in Photography (to be completed this May) – and she has cultivated an artistic practice exploring femme autonomy and collaboration in sex work! Bringing together her love of rock music, performance, and glamorous gender-bending, some say she’s the Bowie of Chicago burlesque! The smartest ass at the top of the class… with flex n’ sex, it’s Greta-X! @ericamckeehen

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

Our catch of the day, Secret Mermaid (she/her), is a burlesque performer and professional model. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance from Loyola University Chicago and has always adored musical theater. Her favorite role was as Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera. She has also sung at the Vatican and with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Secret Mermaid is a burlesque performer and choreographer and also teaches classes and workshops. You can book her for your next corporate event, cocktail bar, or pool party. A delight to multiple senses, she is a triple threat and uses her combination of vocal and body movements to dazzle audiences of all sizes. Whether she’s reimagining a classic from the Broadway stage, or carefully designing one of her unique nerdlesque routines, Secret Mermaid always makes a splash on stage. @secretmermaid13

The Slithering Shapeshifter of Chicago, Juniper Faewild (he/him) has been kittening around in the local burlesque community for the last half of 2022! While he may be new to performing, he is not new to the city. This gothic Chicago native is a full-time freelance costume designer, oddities artist, illustrator, cosplayer and SWer extraordinaire! Juniper Faewild finds inspiration in the weird and wonderful --- and has so much love for all the guidance and opportunities the Chicago Burlesque Community has given him. @juniperfaewild

Dotti Moscati (she/her) is an internationally acclaimed burlesque clown known for her hilarious, clever and brazen acts. She has been far away in the land of Berlin for the last 8 years, and she got her start in burlesque in 2017 in Berlin with the legendary Dirrty Cabaret. Since then Miss Moscati has become Burlesque’s tasty treat of side splitting seduction. Dotti leaves audiences wanting more of her decadent stretch marks and facial expressions. This body positive tummy shaker has returned to her homeland of Chicago and is ready to take the scene by storm! @DottiMoscati

Though he be little, he is FIERCE. Matt Adore (he/him) is a drag king, burlesque artist, circus weirdo, and all-around gender-bendy bawdy boy. Alluring as he is limber, this shapeshifter radiates queer joy upside down and inside out! He’s a little dapper, a little dandy, and always cheeky in more ways than one—you’re going to adore the man himself and the mustache he rode in on! @your.matt.adore

Chicago's Screwiest Showpony and self-proclaimed Hostess with the Mayo-stest, Shirley Blazen's (she/her) antics garner acclaim wherever zany shtick can be peddled. Blazen is the proud founder of Slapstick Burlesque troupe, The Screwbelles. Infamous for serving high energy hijinks from clown nose to toes, welcome the batty, brazen, and oh-so-amazin, Shirley Blazen! @shirleyblazen

Billie Batwing (she/her) is a practitioner of roller skate burlesque and has been identified as a cryptid in her hometown. This ferocious femme holds such esteemed titles as "Little Miss Grave Bloat,” "Man Eating Marathon Champion 2017,” and "Least Qualified Miss America Applicant.” The scourge of south Chicagoland, she’s hell on wheels! It’s Billie Batwing! @billiebatwing

Choreographer, Creator and Dance Enthusiast MochaMocha 2.0 (she/her) is the hottest name on the Chicago scene. Known for her ability to light up any room with her bright personality, amazing moves, and sensual nature, MochaMocha 2.0 is the go-to dancer for all parties and events. Aside from being the CEO & Founder of Body Confidence for Queens, a trailblazing dance company native to Chicago, Mocha is a high profile performer requested by many for her energy, dance skills, and ability to host and produce shows! @MochaMocha2.0

Show Kitten: Highness Noire (she/her) is luscious and velvety royalty that deserves the absolute best. She enjoys bringing Black culture, queerness, and a love of fat bodies to the stage. Show her highness your undying devotion. Lavish her and be ravished by her!

Sound: Alex the Axe (he/him) is a proud Puerto Rican who loves metal, comic books, and making sweet tune-age with his collection of guitars. He has been living in the diaspora for 11 years and is always on the hunt for friends who want to make music with him. When he isn’t reading about world history, punk, and politics, flying up some tasty tostones, or spinning records, he is a helping hand at Tree House Humane Society. You can find him working at Alley Cat Comics in Andersonville on weekends where he will happily recommend you next favorite graphic novel… @alexanderthedave
