Lung Cancer Survivors: Fight Infections During the Holidays
About this Event
NOTE: MUST REGISTER 24 hours in advance.
This meeting features Jenna Kay Rivers, Infection Preventionist / MPH, CPH, CIC, presenting “Fight Infections During the Holidays.” Rivers is a certified Infection Preventionist at Moffitt Cancer Center, and attendees will learn how to avoid infections and illnesses over the upcoming busy holiday season, ensuring they stay healthy and happy while spending time with their loved ones.
As Jenna says, “In oncology, infection prevention isn’t theoretical; it’s personal. Our patients don’t have the immune reserve to absorb system gaps. Every prevention strategy we implement is ultimately about protecting someone whose body is already fighting hard enough.”
Jenna began her career at Moffitt in 2013 and advanced into infection prevention through continued education and professional growth. She earned her MPH with dual concentrations in Epidemiology and Global Communicable Disease from the University of South Florida and holds certifications in Public Health (CPH) and Infection Control (CIC).
