Talk by Hugh Falconer BA, AuthorBased on the book of the same name, this talk explores the social history of the crew members, voyage reports, cargos, and ports of call in far-flung destinations including Australia, New Zealand and India. Join Hugh as he dives into local family history, images of Victorian Aberdeen and details of Mackland’s voyages as a sailmaker on some of the fastest and most graceful sailing ships of the late 1800s, several of which were built in the Aberdeen shipyards of Walter Hood and John Duthie.
