Lunchtime Piano Concert ft. Babak Kowsari
About this Event
Westminster Music Library welcomes pianist Babak Kowsari for a free lunchtime concert. All are warmly welcome at this performance in a relaxed environment.
Programme
Ludwig van Beethoven - Bagatelle op. 126
E. Melik Aslanian – Fantasy
Sergei Rachmaninoff – Étude-Tableau in G minor, Op. 33 No. 8
Atefeh Einali – Ney Davud (2026)
Babak is an Iranian pianist and graduate of the Master of Music (Performance Studies) programme at The University of Manchester. He completed a BA in Music at Azad University in 2015 and an MA in Piano Performance at the Art University of Tehran in 2020.
His performances explore atmosphere, colour, and emotional expression, with a particular interest in creating dialogue between the Western classical repertoire and contemporary Iranian music.
Following a life-changing injury in 2016 that significantly limited the mobility of his right arm, Babak developed a highly individual physical approach to piano playing, which continues to shape his musical voice and artistic perspective.
Through his performances, Babak aims to create moments of reflection, emotional connection, and cultural exchange, believing that music has the power to bring people together across cultures and experiences.
