Dr. Angela Uriyo is an assistant professor of fashion design and merchandising at WVU and this year’s Faculty Fellow and co-curator of Material Matters: Use, Form, and Meaning in African and Diasporic Art. With degrees in clothing and textiles, apparel product design, and a doctorate in human environmental sciences with an emphasis in textile and apparel management, Dr. Uriyo has diverse and unique knowledge of textiles and fiber arts. In this talk, she will give insight into the process behind creating this dynamic exhibition.Lunchtime Looks are short presentations and discussions led by speakers with a variety of interdisciplinary backgrounds, who offer unique perspectives on the Art Museum's exhibitions and collections.
