About this Event

In this talk, PhD student and library assistant Abigail Sieradzki will explore the experience of a Roman student from the Late Roman Republic to Late Antiquity. We will consider what we mean by the ‘schoolroom’, how someone’s status would impact their access to education, and what subjects would have been taught in the Roman schoolroom. We will also explore how Roman education continued under the rise of Christianity in this period and whether we can see any similarities with today’s education system.
