Lunchtime Jazz | Nicola Farnon Trio

Friday 15th November | 1pm

Following a classical music upbringing (Grade 8 cello), it was as a student at Middlesex Polytechnic that Nicola Farnon first discovered jazz. Taking up the double bass, it wasn’t long before Nicola was playing jazz, funk and a whole lot more. The Nicola Farnon Trio became her primary focus, performing jazz standards and engaging original compositions, recording numerous albums and touring widely (as far afield as Ukraine).

No less an authority than Humphrey Lyttelton said of Nicola: She’s a remarkable performer on stage, a fine singer and an outstandingly swinging and propulsive bass player with an outgoing personality to match.

Nicola Farnon appears at the Lit & Phil with her established trio featuring Richard Wetherall (piano) and Phil Johnson (drums).
