ANDRZEJ BARANEK TRIO

Andrzej Baranek is one of the finest pianists working on the UK jazz scene. Based in Lancashire, Andrzej leads his own piano trio and is in great demand in other settings, performing alongside an array of established musicians, including Greg Abate, Alan Barnes, Alex Clarke, Gaz Hughes, Dean Masser, Art Themen and Rico Tomasso. In addition to jazz club and festival engagements, Andrzej’s piano features on several studio albums (Gaz Hughes, Magic Hat Ensemble). This Jazz at the Lit & Phil concert features Andrzej’s hard-swinging trio, comprising bassist Josh Cavanagh-Brierley and drummer Dave Walsh, in a programme of compositions by Duke Ellington, Erroll Garner, Thelonious Monk and others.
