This solo program explores iconic violin works from the 18th century to today. Starting with J.S. Bach’s profound Chaconne from his Violin Partita No. 2 in D minor, the program moves to Lera Auerbach’s reflective T’filah (Prayer), composed in 1996, and concludes with Eugene Ysaÿe’s virtuosic Sonata No. 6 in E major. Each piece showcases the violin’s evolution, highlighting its expressive power and technical brilliance across the centuries. We hope you can join us! Entry by donation.

About our Lunchtime Concert Series:
A series of lunchtime concerts was launched in April 2013 to encourage city workers and others to come into and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Cathedral during the day. These concerts at 1pm on Wednesdays provide fine music and space for contemplation in the midst of a busy week.
